Well, this month the Daring Bakers made lovely Opera Cakes. All except me.
I adore opera and opera cake and was looking forward to this challenge, but we are moving in a few days and the packing up started before I could get my challenge done. So, for those of you who are dropping by to check out my cake, my apologies.
I do plan to make this cake in June when my younger daughter and her husband move here from Texas. I’ll post pix then. In the meantime, check out about a thousand other opera cakes at http://daringbakersblogroll.blogspot.com/
Bummer! I was looking forward to seeing your masterpiece. Congratulations on the move AND on the move of your daughter’s family – how wonderful to be closer!

Ah well, sorry to have missed you. Hoping you’ll be back in the swing of things with the June challenge.

Hi! I didn’t get to make the opera cake either, but I’m determined to still do it one of these days.
Your cheese pops were beautiful!
I see the FoodBuzz folks have been here
That’s where I found your blog. At FoodBuzz, under Durham bloggers. I’m from Durham too.
Hi Pat! In response to your question, it’s mixed media–torn paper, newspaper, and Indian ink out of a dropper!
